Fullerton Airport is 3 miles north and 1.5 miles east of my apartment. The "clouds" at 1900 ft is really smoke.

That's the way the weather looked last night. Notice the humidity. Normally, by 10 PM it would be cooling down from a high of around 70° and the humidity would be over 50%, since we would have had a sea breeze. And, while the wind does shift to off-shore at night, it is more of drift and even by morning it's usually only 3 MPH or so.

This morning when I went out for my paper, there was a lot of ash on the ground, there was smoke in the air, and the mountains to the north were hidden in smoke.
