Last weekend I attended the premier showing of the documentary film illegal HOPE.
It's a story about a women with cancer faced with the choice of standard treatment or going to Mexico to receive alternative, less drastic treatment. The story includes Peri's plight along with her family's involvement. It looks at the situation with alternative treatments and the possible interference of the U.S. Governments in health care outside the U.S.
I attended because the film maker, David Ingrassano, is my neighbor and I had several discussions with him during the period he was traveling to do the filming. It was a worthwhile evening because the story was good and it was good to see the results of David's efforts.
